Some Believe Hypnosis is An Option
I was watching a new show which focused on people's fears. Public speaking was a fear one guest had, actually one of the producers of the show. She allowed herself to be hypnotized on the show to help overcome her fear of public speaking. After she'd been hypnotized the host gave her note cards to read a speech which she read and appeared not be nervous like she had been earlier in the show. She was also hooked up to a heart rate monitor which indicated her heart rate was about 130--relatively high but not as high it was earlier in the show. I wonder would most people consider hynotism to overcome public speaking fears. I know that I wouldn't.

Welcome
Hello,
I invite you to join this blog and share your thoughts, experiences, and fears about public speaking in the form of comments, questions, advice, etc. I teach a public speaking class at a community college and have enjoyed meeting and hearing the speeches of my students throughout the years. So many people lack the confidence or the skills to speak comfortably in front of others. I believe that when people share their concerns, experiences, and suggestions for improvement, they learn to overcome their fears and tools to become better speakers. Even those who are good public speakers can find ways to improve. I look forward to everyone's contributions to our blog discussions.
